Bill Sharing Groups

By Emily McWilliams
When approaching the podium you are might be thinking “What am I going to say? I really want my bill to pass, but I’m very scared.” Luckily, this was not the case for most people at the assembly because we had something called bill sharing groups.
Bill sharing groups are small groups of about 5 people. They are intended to make delegates feel more comfortable about their speech when they speak in front of 20 people at second committee and even more comfortable in front of 50 people at the Senate or House of Representatives.
The bill sharing groups helped delegates prepare for the debate process on their bill. Also, during bill sharing groups, they discussed arguments that might occur during debate along with NDTQ. Overall, these bill sharing groups helped prepare the young delegates for any situations, problems, and feelings that might be ahead of them.
