Closing The Gap

According to the Executive Agenda recent studies identified that certain bachelor degrees are awarded disproportionately to one men over the women? However, both genders are looking for compelling colleagues, mutual values and more advanced work at their jobs. Based on their experiences, men are more likely to achieve these work goals, whereas women are prone to experiences that create a diminished sense of workplace satisfaction.
Given these feelings of dissatisfaction in the workplace, women may have a lower threshold when it comes to deciding whether to leave the world of work or not. However, the real question in the midst of all it is: Who is most impacted by this uneven playing field?
For every dollar a man makes a women gets paid 74 cents?! This spotlights an unfair and discriminatory gender gap. Men don't feel impacted by gender issues, but they affect the lives of women every day. Our gender identity shapes what hurts and helps us whether we know it or not. We are all right and we are all wrong in our as we each approach the issue with a different perspectives.

It is time to step up and make sure that men and women are treated equally in our schools and universities. Kofi Annan once said: "Gender equality is more than a goal in itself. It is a precondition for meeting the challenge of reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development and building good governance." We need to take action and close the gender gap.
